Writing your first product brief
What a brief needs to cover before you generate your first topics and scripts.
A brief is the one thing every topic, script and render downstream is built from, so it's worth getting right before you generate anything. At minimum, cover three things:
- Product — what it does, in plain language, and the single most useful thing it changes for a user.
- Audience — who the video is for. Be specific rather than generic ("solo founders evaluating analytics tools" works better than "small businesses").
- Tone — how the brand should sound. A line or two is enough; you don't need a full style guide.
Once the brief is saved, you can reuse it across every new topic without re-entering this information — that's the point of writing it once.
